Sagittarius, the Centaur Archer, is the ninth house of the zodiac and rules the liver, hips, and thighs. Positive traits include optimism, innate wisdom, a philosophical outlook, a love of nature, generosity, joie de vive, flexibility, a keen intellect, independence, energy, natural good luck, foresight, and the capacity to dream big; negative traits include restlessness, tactlessness, clumsiness, naivete, unwillingness to commit, and a tendency to ignore important details while looking at a big, sketchy picture.

Slytherin Sagittarians are sorted primarily because of their ability to dream; these Sags have a vision, and with the support of their House, can channel their energies to great achievements. In return they give their House something priceless beyond rubies: a sense of perspective. Temporary failure is not humiliating to the Sagittarius Slytherin, merely a temporary setback in pursuit of a goal. They can laugh at themselves even when other people are laughing at them, and of course that turns the joke on the idiots who came up with it in the first place. (How devious.) Although bright, these Slytherins will coast through their classes if they can get away with it; they'd rather envision the future than attend to the details of the present.

Personality

Rude, Dominating, Cruel, Sadistic. All words to describe Bellatrix. Bellatrix is often rash, not thinking at all of the long term. She prefers violence to actual mind games. Her temper makes her hard to get along with so she has few friends. Though she would not even term them friends. Mutual acquantances at the best. Her sense of loyalty is bizarre, almost obssessive.

History

Bellatrix Black is the oldest of the three Black sisters. She cares for both her sisters but is offended by her younger sister’s, Andromeda’s, abnormality of not being “Black enough” as their mother calls it. After finding out that Andromeda was pregnant, and actually keeping the child, she distanced herself until they both broke apart in a fight following Bellatrix sleeping with Andromeda's boyfriend Dolohov. Her relationship with her "only" sister, Cissy, is strained due to her jealousy. She does not understand how Cissy could love her husband and allow him to dominate her. Even if she is a ditz.

Bellatrix comes from a rich family so is often spoiled, though not as much as her younger sisters. She has the best of everything, but wants more. Her parents are strictest with her since she is the oldest so at times she gets short with Narcissa who, being the youngest, gets everything she wants and suffers almost no criticism. Often she felt as if she had a world put upon her shoulders by her mother. Bellatrix hated her father Icabod for letting her mother control him and she hated her mother, hoping she would never be like her. Those problems ended when she murdered her parents. To her surprise, Icabod was the one who put up the most fight.

Being the oldest, Bellatrix has also been tutored in most spells along with potions and other things her parents thought a proper Black female should know. When she was younger, her tutors had a hard time with their lessons due to her constantly blackmailing them into giving her free time. Her best subject was Arithmancy, though despite popular belief, she was not having an affair with the Professor (not for her lack of trying). She is naturally skilled with numbers, charms, and transfiguration. Her skill is best shown in having transfigured a desk into her hippogriff Badakai, which she used to attack Slughorn during detention. Her anti-conceivement charm has become very popular among the wider spread girls in the school. She knows how to speak a few languages and her best known one is the troll language. Despite beliefs from others in later years, the Troll Attack was a prank gone horribly wrong. She killed her first living thing during the attack and used the Cruciatus, leading to her eventual insanity.

Bellatrix is the oldest of the three Black sisters and is Sirius and Regulus Black’s first cousin. She cares for her cousin Regulus almost as much as her sisters and, when she was younger, used to play with Sirius and cared for him like a brother. He treated her as an equal while most boys his age believed her to be inferior since she was female. However, like Andromeda, he started to change and act oddly. She knew Sirius was going to ruin the Black family name when he was sorted into Gryffindor. He is often consorting with muggles which annoys her. She goes to great length to ignore both of the cousins, but due to her position in the Slytherin social circle constantly has to deal with Regulus. She has a tendency to be unfairly strict on Regulus, reminding him of his duties to the Black family and the pureblood in his veins. Her behavior towards him has changed even more once she found her cousin having an affair with her husband. Though she has no love for Rodolphus, she does not approve of Regulus' "faggotry". If anything, her love quickly turned to hate.

The last year of Hogwarts was the most formative for Bellatrix. An alcoholic herself, she became friends with a constantly drunk Professor Delame. They shared many friendly moments together and she felt a loyalty to him only rivalled by her current love of Lord Voldemort. They often tried to help eachother to stop drinking, though Bellatrix often failed. Unfortunately, Bellatrix did not figure out she was in love with Professor Delame until he fell in love with Professor Agostini. She felt betrayed and often tried to bring him to her, sexually harassing him at every chance. She felt their love would be short-lived and he would come back to her. She lost the last of her sanity when she found out of the engagement between Delame and Agostini. Feeling betrayed, she vowed not only to never love again, but to make Delame's life a living hell for hurting her.

Bellatrix is most known for the following murders: One of Abime Delame's friends, Merciful and Icabod Black, Livia Agostini-Delame (Former Ancient Runes professor and wife of Professor Delame), Mrs. Jones (the mother of Hestia Jones), and Dorcas Meadowes' dog. However, she has murdered many more who are not known.

Those She Works With

the_good_lord Lord Voldemort. At first Bellatrix followed him because she believed he could give her power. After following him for a while, she gradually became more loyal to him. She idolises his power and believes if anybody can change the world, he can.

bitter_faith Lucius Malfoy. Bellatrix and Lucius have a very hate-filled relationship. In contrast to the calm way Malfoy handles things, Bellatrix is much more rash and hotheaded. This leads to a contrast. While she stayed with him for a while during her first few months of hiding, she later vowed never to ask for his help again since it was too degrading.

lestrange_1 Rodolphus Lestrange, Bellatrix's husband. Despite common belief, she does not completely hate her husband. If she had been allowed a choice in marrying him she may have been okay. Though they would never have chosen each other, she thinks. She does not respect him since she believes herself more manly than him. He seems to always hide from her and she does not believe he is capable of mass murder. Things only worsened when she realised he was in love with Regulus.

nomudbloods Antonin Dolohov. In her early years, she used Dolohov as an acquantance and had many laughs by flirting with him. Knowing he was afraid of her, she had that much more fun. She lost some respect for him when he impregnated Andromeda, causing the girl to be ousted by the Blacks. However, most respect she lost when she found out Andromeda was seeing the muggleborn Ted Tonks behind Dolohov's back. While she tried to warn Dolohov, he ignored her and she has never let him forget it. While she will get along with Dolohov for the sake of a common mission, she would rather torture him. It'd be much more amusing.

redsonorus Oscar Jugson a.k.a. Bellatrix's fanboy. Bellatrix was very surprised, in a most pleasant way, to find she had a fan. She realises this boy will do everything she says and uses him for tasks she would rather not do herself. The only care towards him she feels is a type of ownership.

reggie_b_cool Regulus Black. In Bellatrix's mind they do not come fruitier than him. While she loved him and protected him at an early age, things changed at Hogwarts. Her love did a complete turnover when she found her husband sleeping with him. Not just in body, but she knew he had Rodolphus' heart as well. While a very small part of her still cares, it is kept away along with the last bit of her heart.
